You can find a lot of places to holiday in the US. However, while taking your trip there are ways you can stay safe. Below you will find the top 10 safe tips for ski holidays.

1. Make sure you have a have ESTA US visa before you are traveling. You can apply for ESTA US visas by filling out a ESTA visa application. It will take a couple of days for the Esta US visa to be processed.

2. Use traveler’s checks in place of money. Unlike money they can be replaced if they are lost or stolen.

3. Make sure your transportation is in place prior to going on your ski holiday. You don’t want to get stuck at the airport and have to rely on an unknown source that could put your safety in jeopardy.

4. Only stay at a well established ski resort. These resorts often have safety standards that unknown resorts may not have.

5. Use only certified ski instructors. They will be well trained on issues dealing with safety and that will lessen the likelihood that you will get hurt.

6. When skiing, stay on the trails and bring a buddy along with you. By doing so, if one of you gets hurt you can be easily found and the uninjured party can go for help if necessary.

7. Consider hiring a tour guide. A tour guide will know all of the safe places to visit and will not put you in harms way.

8. Stay in well lit areas with a lot of people around. Crime in the US occurs more often in areas that are dark and desolate. Even if you want to see a particular attraction, don’t risk your safety if it’s not in a good area.

9. Don’t go out with strangers alone when skiing or around your resort. It’s okay to make friends and even ski with them. However, since you don’t really know them you don’t want to go out with them by yourself as you don’t know if they want to harm you or not.

10. Keep all of your documents in a secure place such as a drawer in the room you are staying in at your resort. You don’t want to have them on you because they might get lost or stolen.

Edinburgh is renowned as one of the most beautiful cities in the UK and it has been further blessed recently with a spate of incredible weather for the early summer season. There has never been a better time to spend time outside in the Edinburgh weather. The architecture of the city itself is spectacular in the centre and it is paired wonderfully with the luscious environmentof the surrounding area.

The great weather will not last forever, so it is important to get outside into the fresh air whilst it is still possible. Whether it is a walk through the town centre or just a lazy day off relaxing in the garden, the worst of winter is behind us and we now have months of serene summer days stretched out ahead of us.

Gardens across Edinburgh are seeing a rare wash of sunshine and it is vital to take advantage of this opportunity to get outside in force for all manner of barbeques, picnics and evening events as we make use of the extra hour of daylight. A thatched gazebo or any type of garden structure could greatly improve your enjoyment of the summer sun as well as extending the summer season for you as you take shelter and warmth on more mild nights in the autumn or the spring.

In the city of such architectural beauty a perfectly constructed wooden gazebo can provide you with an idyllic shaded seat to escape sunburn and just enjoy the scenery as you relax and enjoy the summer months. Not only a great visual adornment to a well kept garden, but also a practical and enjoyable shelter from the extremes the seasons.

Edinburgh is the Capital of Scotland and home to history, culture and festivals. The native inhabitants of Edinburgh call themselves Edinburghians, however, whether or not you will meet a true Celtic or Pictish person in Edinburgh is debatable, as nowadays many globetrotters also call Edinburgh home.

One thing all people in Edinburgh have in common with the rest of us, if not heritage, is a national increase in obesity. The Scottish Health Survey recently revealed an increase in the obesity levels of Scottish people and the Scottish Government’s now aim to help Scottish citizens maintain a healthy BMI and reduce obesity in adults by 2018.

Getting rid of excess body weight in Scotland

Scotland is one of the world leaders in surgical obesity treatment studies, with the two most popular procedures for obese patients in Scotland being gastric band and bariatric surgery. The goal of weight loss programmes is not only to rid the person of their excess weight, but also to transform the person’s thinking about weight management, which includes a change to their lifestyle, diet and habits.

Some Edinburghians and their fellow companions, however, do not wish to have these types of weight loss surgeries. They may shed weight through diet and exercise, but have some excess remaining on a body part, such as the chin, neck, chest, arms, waist, thighs, buttocks, legs or ankles. It’s not about altering stomach size, it’s just about getting rid of that excess flabby fat on a specific body part.

Solution in Edinburgh: Vaser Liposuction

Removing excess flab from such as specific body part is where Vaser Liposuction works best! The procedure is minimally invasive, with local anaesthetic used and outpatient treatment can be received with results in two to three hours. Patients return to work within two days and have full recovery within three to four months. Vaser Liposuction uses ultrasonic waves through tiny inserted probes to breakdown the fat into liquid and suction it back out of the body. This kind of treatment slims the body parts and gives them back a more youthful tone. Whether you’re a Scottish Edinburghian or not, you can’t argue with that!

The majority of health care in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland is administered through the NHS, the health care services run by the British government that offers certain services for free. There are two main hospitals in the city, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Western General. Both are run by NHS Lothian, which also runs a total of 27 hospitals in the Edinburgh and Lothians areas. Both Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Western General are within easy reach of the city centre.

As well as main and local hospitals, there are also numerous local GPs throughout the city of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Details on certain health services are on www.gastricbands.co.uk.

Another popular health service found in Edinburgh is the University Health Centre. Located on the premises of the University of Edinburgh it is run by the NHS and is open to the general public, not just students of the university.

As well as the NHS there are a number of private health care companies that operate within Edinburgh that specialise in certain areas, from dental health care services to weight loss surgery specialists.

General Private health care services also include two main hospitals within Edinburgh. Murrayfield Hospital in the west of the city and Shawfield Hospital in the south. Both are private and owned by Spire Healthcare.

Both Murrayfield and Shawfield offer weight loss surgery. The primary surgeries that are used for weight loss are the gastric bypass surgery, gastric band and gastric balloon. All three work in similar ways, operating in the stomach to manipulate either the flow or portions of food that are consumed.

A gastric bypass works by connecting the intestines to the top part of the stomach, missing out the lower stomach and upper intestines, where the majority of calories are absorbed into the system. A gastric band and balloon work by reducing the portions of food that can be eaten by the patient. While a band restricts the size of the stomach, a gastric balloon is inflated inside the stomach, reducing the capacity within.

Edinburgh Scotland beautiful, unique and a wonderful place to visit. If you are traveling to Edinburgh you will surely want to see places like the Edinburgh castle, the John Knox House, the National Gallery, the Georgina House and more. Edinburgh is packed full of beautiful and exciting historic places that will take you back in time and teach you about the city and the people of Scotland.

As a visitor or a regular, getting around a large city especially if you are a visitor is sometimes complicated and intimidating. If you are from another country then you feel even more estranged on where you are, where you want to be and how to get there.

Many main attractions are in city centre and within walking distance of one another. Local bus services cover almost the entire city and trains and bus services cover the larger Lothian Region. You can down load and print out free route maps that will help you with your journey around Edinburgh.
Edinburgh bus station has many local buses that cover Edinburgh, such as Lothian Buses and First buses that operate in all sections of the city. There are also a number of bus tour companies that you can take to travel through the area. Some of the bus tours have a “Hop on and hop off” service where you can travel as much or as little as you want and all in your own leisure.
Some of the common routes that the buses travel are on Howe Street, Dundas Street, Broughton Street, Leith Walk, London Road, Canongate, Nicolson Street, Potterrow, Tollcross, Fountain.bridge, West Approach Rd., Shandwick Place and Queensferry St.
Edinburgh has two main train stations the Edinburgh Waverley that covers city centre and Haymarket which covers the west end.
If you have an itinerary in mind and know exactly what you want to see you could print out the maps offered on many web sites for visitors and travelers and see if the address you are looking for is on a bus or train route. You could also call the attraction and inquire if they have bus or train service to their establishment. But your best bet would be to call the train or bus stations your self. Then you can receive their routes, maps and times that trains and buses pick up passengers.
There really is not any place in Edinburgh you will not be able to get to because the train and bus’s are plentiful and they have taxis, bike trails and trams. Getting around in Edinburg will not be difficult and the information on where to go and how to get there in the city is to obtain with just a little research and a few emails or calls you will be ready to see the sights!

Considered by those who have seen it as ‘beautiful’ in its own right Edinburgh, Scotland is a favorite destination of many in Europe and around the world. Complete with castles and architecture that is certain to make you feel as though history has come alive and you are right in the middle of it. As historic as it may seem however its technology and modern facilities are on par with the best.

Most major cities around the world have airports that provide direct flights to Edinburgh, Scotland but if you don’t live in or near to one of these points of embarkation there are many airports that serve as connecting hubs to Edinburgh. While in the city public transportation like buses, trams or taxis are both available and reliable, but if you would prefer to seek your own adventure you can hire your own car from any of the more popular rental agencies.

Many of the more interesting sights are mostly historical in nature so if you enjoy finding out about the past and the part that Edinburgh, Scotland has played then you should get ready to be impressed. A few historic buildings to consider visiting are Real Mary King’s Close which serves as the Royal exchange or the National Trust for Scotland where you can shop or just stop in for coffee.

With over 12 years since its inception the National Museum of Scotland with its five stories of historic art which includes items that go back to AD 750 is an important stop along the way. On the other hand checking out the National War Museum of Scotland is certain to enlighten you about the tough times and the achievements that Edinburgh, Scotland had to endure.

If you are hungry then Mum’s the word (formerly monster mash) where you can polish off some shepherds pie or fish and chips. If seafood is more your style then Fishers in the City may be just what the doctor ordered where oysters, scallops and sea bass are fresh and perfectly grilled.

For the traveler who does not like meat and products associated with meat David Bann may be the place for you and with several cheese puddings to choose from or spicy broccoli is there any wonder. After all that food burn off some of those calories shopping at John Lewis Harvey Nichols department stores. Edinburgh, Scotland! Its a great place with a great history.

If somebody were to mention traveling in Europe, chances are cities such as Paris, London, Rome or Barcelona will pop up in people’s minds. However, there are other underrated cities to visit as well and one of them would be Edinburgh. Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK. It is filled with century’s worth of history, art and architecture. It is also the capital of Scotland and each year it attracts millions of tourist for the above reasons as well as its festivals. In fact, for all these reasons Scotland boasts of a very active tourism industry.

Because of the massive popularity of this city, hotels in Edinburgh are generally booked full throughout the year. This means if you are planning on visiting this city, it is always better to book your hotel rooms as far in advance as possible. Some of the festivals, such as the Edinburgh festival and Edinburgh tattoo festival are so popular that you will have to book as far back as a year in advance to get a room! However, the good news is that there are plenty of hotels to choose from, offering many different price ranges.

Edinburgh can be describes as city filled with cobbled streets, great landscapes and amazing sunsets. It is
surrounded by Scottish lowlands and coastal villages which border the suburbs of Edinburgh. These areas are also worth a visit. Two of the most popular places to visit would be Edinburgh castle and Princess ST gardens. There are many castles, both small and large dotting the landscape of Scotland, but the most impressive of them all is Edinburgh castle. Building of this castle was started over a thousand years ago and as the centuries passed, more and more was added to it, until its final shape we see today. Among other things, it houses the royal Scottish crown jewels.

Princess ST Gardens is an amazing sight to behold. The perfectly manicured lawns and trees and flowers are a must see. At any given time of the day you will see people taking a stroll in the gardens or just relaxing under a tree. It is in a way the Edinburgh’s version of Central Park. One of the highlights of the gardens is the Scottish monument. As far as traveling to Edinburgh is concerned you can reach this city by train or plane. The city has a train station, named Waverly Station and an international airport. The bottom line is that Edinburgh’s diversity will make even the most discerning traveler happy.

Traveling to Edinburg, Scotland? Who would have thought that Edinburgh had such an abundance of diverse restaurants with atmosphere, great food and wine and vibrant outdoor cafes? With everything from castles to dungeon dining, Edinburgh rocks.

Visting Edinburgh Castle? I had a great time eating on a veranda that overlooks the castle at Oloroso. Though the
restaurant is contemporary in style, it has an elegant feel. The lamb was delicious. Another fantastic restaurant in the area is The Witchery by the Castle, where one can dine in a historic sixteenth century building. It is near the gates of Edinburg and has a delightful warm atmosphere. With a somewhat French feeling, eating the smoked salmon was almost magical. There are more places to dine close to the castle, and the Amber Restaurant, located within the Scotch Whisky Experience, serves great Scottish food and malt whiskey. The Jolly Judge, near Old Town, has great homemade soup and toasted sandwiches and is also close to the castle.

While mentioning castles, I should also mention dungeons. A visit to the Dalhousie Castle & Spa in Bonnyrigg sets the mood for dining in The Dungeon, surrounded by weapons and armor on the stone walls. It was such a unique setting that I wanted to stay longer. Their salmon was excellent.

The wealth of dining in Edinburgh includes traditional Scottish food, such as haggis, scallops and shellfish, Indian, Bangledeshi, Mongolian, Italian, French, Scottish Game, American and Vegetarian.

If in the mood for a fiesta while in Edinburg, take a salsa class and dine in Latin style at El Barrio. Lots of festive music and great spicy food. Dancing is ’til the wee small hours. At The Frankenstein Pub, near the castle and old town, you can watch the monster while eating your dinner. They do “monster parties” as well. If you crave American food and rock ‘n’ roll, there is always the Hard Rock Cafe.

Some of the other restaurants to be enjoyed in Edinburgh are; The Grain Store, in the Grassmarket area, with some wonderful arched windows to peer out from, Kebabish Original, with grilled Indian food and Punjabi flavors,
Mezbaan South Indian Restaurant with an exotic menu and large selection of Vegetarian.

The places to eat in Edinburgh, Scotland are too numerous to mention here, but more can be learned on the Scotland food website, EatScotland.com. My visit to Scotland was a tasty trip and Edinburgh was a winner.

The Edinburgh Castle is the first site to visit. It is located on top of an old volcano. It first housed the royal couple Margaret and Malcolm III. Margaret was known by the Scottish people for her great generosity. Later, this castle was known to hold treasure and other royalty.

If you are interested in exploring the history of Edinburgh, you must visit The Museum of Scotland. It was opened in 1998 and has a beautiful sandstone facade. It has a drum tower like many castles around Scotland that can be climbed through an internal stairway,. Reformation artifacts are on display in numerous nooks and crannies and a roof garden exists which allows for a unique view of Edinburgh.

For the family, the Edinburgh Zoo should be a definite stop. This area houses over one thousand animals on an entire hillside in Corstorphine. It was first opened in 1909 with moats and ditches that separated animals from humans instead of cages like today. The first time Scottish people ever saw live penguins was at this zoo. This zoo specializes in breeding giraffes and also houses Siberian tigers. These animals are so rare that under five hundred of them exist in the wild. It also has many birds, gorillas, bears, and many other animal species.

Another point of interest is the Greyfriar’s Churchyard. This is a burial ground from the 16th century that contains many monuments dedicated to important people in Edinburgh like Duncan Ban MacIntyre, a Celtic poet, and Walter Scott Senior, father of writer Sir Walter Scott.

Princes Street is a great part of the “New Town”. It is named after King George’s sons and is the foremost shopping area that has a view of a Medieval castle. This street is split in two sections, the south which has a castle and gardens, and retail outlets to the north.

If you are out for a leisurely walk, perhaps you may like to stroll down the Royal Mile known as the longest and finest street in the world. The Lawnmarket’s Tolbooth Kirk has been made into the Hub which houses an art gallery, the festival box office, and a lively cafe. On the other side is the Whiskey Centre which explains everything about the development of whiskey and other kinds of malts. Victoria Street is nearby where there are brightly colored antique and jewelry shops. Edinburgh has something to offer everyone.
