Justice and Peace Group
What
is it?
The J&P
Group is an informally organised group that engages with issues
of global injustice, in small, local ways. One of our aims
is simply to raise awareness.
The group
facilitates 'Fair Trade' stalls in the Church, making ethically
sourced products locally available to parishioners.
The Group
has also supported national campaigns on issues of inequality.
At a more
reflective level, the group also organises prayer evenings
for peace at times of insecurity of war.

Children's Liturgy
Every
week many children and young people join the rest of the parish
community at Mass. The Eucharist at 10.00 am on Sunday is
particularly intended to welcome them.
What
is the Children's' Liturgy?
It is
our way of helping the children of the parish to share the
gospel. There are two groups - pre-school (accompanied by
an adult) and school age. Each group celebrates the Gospel,
with a mixture of music, mime and word appropriate to the
age groupings
New children
are always welcome - so too are new helpers.

Catholic Men's Society
(CMS)
What
is it?
The remit
of the CMS is to provide a spiritual, social, educational
a, recreation and charitable environment for the men of the
parish. The Leith branch of the CMS was formed in 1874 and
is the oldest Scottish branch still in existence. However,
the CMS also aims to be relevant in today's parish and is
currently reviewing its structure to provide a more robust
and modern organisation within the parish.
What
do we do?
The CMS
has a Corporate Mass on the first Sunday of each month (11.30am)
and Benediction and rosary at 5.30pm on the same evening.
Planned Talks are also held at 7.30pm on the second Monday
of each month in the lower Parish hall. This year's programme
is looking at how ordinary parishioners can be more involved
in the works of the Church in the 21st century. Everyone is
very welcome to attend.

Women's Sodality
What
is it?
The Women's
sodality is both a spiritual and a social group. Its main
function is to deepen its members' spiritual lives and to
be a support to the parish.
What
do we do?
The group
meets every Wednesday in the Church at 7.30pm for rosary and
Benediction. Once a month we have Mass. Thereafter we retire
to the hall for the social part of the evening.
New members
are very welcome.
