Whatever happened to that girl in Ferris Bueller?
Jennifer Grey was a huge star back in the 1980s when she co-starred in the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and starred in the mega-hit Dirty Dancing as the one and only Baby Houseman. Jennifer Grey was a woman with a signature face due to her signature nose. After becoming a famous celebrity Ms. Grey decided that it would help to further her career by undergoing cosmetic surgery to receive a rhinoplasty. Jennifer Grey had a prominent nose compared to other people but in relation to her face it was essentially in proportion and was the key factor to making her face what it was.
Unlike many cosmetic surgery patients that have nose jobs, Jennifer Grey’s nose job caused her to become unrecognizable to the point that her career basically stopped dead in the water. In all, the celebrity had two nose jobs. Her first rhinoplasty nose job ended up being botched and the second had to repair the damage of the first left her looking completely different. The rhinoplasty reduced the tip of her nose and shaved down the prominent bump and fullness in the middle. In the end the cosmetic surgery achieved an ideal button nose. Unfortunately, the ideal button nose took away the unique characteristics of her face making her completely different. This goes to show that even though a rhinoplasty is a relatively small procedure, in comparison to a face lift or chin-implant, it is still an extremely powerful cosmetic surgery done to the face.
Because the nose is at the center of the face, doing too much to it can really alter an appearance, especially if the other features of the face are of average characteristic and the nose is more unique. When choosing to have a rhinoplasty performed patients should go with less is more to achieve a more natural enhanced look than one of complete alteration.
